We here! (Official Tiny Bear announcement and some thoughts on trying new things!)

We here and we are functioning! *clap emoji*

Tiny Bear Productions is officially up and running for all of you Eastern Iowa and Quad City Area dwellers (and beyond!).

This venture started as a bit of a whirlwind (and in the midst of some difficult personal times). It was definitely an impulse decision to start my own film company after years of doing it on and off. But I think some of the best decisions are made when you go with your gut.

Filming is something I truly enjoy - one of those life passions that every Instagram influencer is telling millennials to chase - so I'm doing it. I'm chasing a bit of a dream.

I want to make films that mean something to people. Whether that's filming a special wedding day, live music that makes you wanna dance or a special birthday that you never want to forget.

And as cheesy as those "follow your dreams" Instagram posts are; they're right.

I've always been a bit scared to try new things - scared to fail, scared to mess up, scared of my bad habit of not following through - but even with some mishaps and mistakes, the small jump to start my own business has already been one of the most rewarding and satisfying projects in my life.

I've found that my "bad habit" of not following through is really a product of self-doubt (which I actively work on squashing every day). And messing up is not as scary as I make it out in my head to be. And failure? What is failure really? If I learn something along the way, then all ventures are a success in my mind.

My new mantra: just try it.

This looks candid but IT WAS STAGED. DON'T LET ANYONE EVER TELL YOU THESE CANDID PHOTOS AREN'T STAGED. #revealingthetruth

This blog post? I've never written one before and I would say I'm private person so, if we're being honest, it's totally uncomfortable. But I thought, "I'll try it and see what happens".  If it inspires someone else to just 'try' that thing they might be passionate about or puts a face to the person behind Tiny Bear, then that's pretty neat.

I've been doing my best to try and film a bit of everything lately which means lots of editing, not much sleeping and probably not enough time spent getting the word about my services. But I'm really enjoying it.

So far, I've filmed a handful of wonderfully in love couples, some sporting events and a few live music events. Keep an eye out for some sneak peeks.....I know, I know.....the sneak peeks are rare but they're coming I promise!

To end my first blog post, I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me in getting this little biz up and running. Thank you to everyone who has shared a Tiny Bear post or liked a Tiny Bear video. It makes me incredibly happy :)

I'm going to keep these blog posts going - some will be event recaps, some may just be thoughts and progress from behind the scenes at Tiny Bear.

And, *shameless plug* if ya' need a film - you can contact me anytime. It's 2018 and I have a computer on my person, always.

Right now, wedding videography services are 25% off for wedding dates through October. I know some couples initially don't hire a videographer because their budget doesn't allow so this is a great opportunity to capture the big day in motion. I mean, you only wedding once right? #YOWO
